Samuel L. Hemmeter, CPA/PFS, MT

Sam earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Wright State University in 1992 and his Masters in Taxation from Capital University in 1996. Sam has nearly 20 years of public accounting experience, including 13 years with Ernst & Young, a big “4” accounting firm. He was born and raised in this area, and is well versed in the dynamic and vibrant heritage of our Ohio region.

Sam’s experience includes tax planning and consultation with closely-held clients in the manufacturing, real estate, and distribution industries. He also has worked with a variety of clients assisting with business succession, mergers and acquisitions, international structuring, state and local taxation, estate and gift tax planning, and tax accounting method opportunities.

Sam has extensive experience working with multi-national companies and expatriate employees. He is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Sam serves as the past-chair of the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio and is the past president of the Dayton Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals. Sam speaks frequently to professional service and industry groups about tax related issues, including speaking on international tax matters with the Miami Valley International Trade Association and mergers and acquisition planning with the Financial Executive Institute.

In 2015, Sam earned his PFS designation. All financial planners are not created equal. A PFS is more than a financial planner – he or she is a CPA with the powerful combination of extensive tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning. This knowledge is critical to obtaining the most valuable, objective advice possible. All areas of personal financial planning – including estate, retirement, investments and insurance – have tax implications, and the PFS professional has the experience, ethics, and expertise to get the job done right.
